Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy’s ongoing feud with country star Zach Bryan has entered another round.
Portnoy, 47, took to social media on Wednesday, November 20, to address alleged actions taken by Bryan, 28 — who Portnoy called “a small, little, pathetic man” — at UFC 309 on Saturday, November 16. Bryan’s ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia was sitting cageside at the event.
“During the fights, this guy David [Onama] wins the fight, gets in the middle of the ring and gives Zach Bryan a shout,” Portnoy explained in a TikTok video.
Indeed, Onama, 30 — who defeated Roberto Romero by decision — got in the middle of the octagon at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and mentioned Bryan in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. “I want to come back here next month to watch, what’s it called, Zach Bryan in concert,” Onama stammered.
Dave Portnoy Calls Zach Bryan a 'Scumbag' After Brianna Chickenfry Split
Bryan has two sold-out shows scheduled for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in December.
“This guy David goes on a podcast,” Portnoy continued. “It was so odd. The podcasters are like, ‘What’s up with Zach Bryan? You’re a big Zach Bryan fan?’ The UFC guy is like, ‘I don’t even know who Zach Bryan is. His manager, his team, reached out to my team begging for a shout-out.’”
Onama appeared on SiriusXM Fight Nation’s “MMA Today,” where he recounted the alleged story.
“I didn’t know who Zach Bryan was,” Onama admitted. Onama said mentioning Bryan’s name was “literally” a paid advertisement.
A disgruntled Portnoy continued his rant, calling Bryan a “4-foot-8 f—in’ psychopath.”
“We know you’re popular, Zach, “ Portnoy said. “You don’t need to bribe people to say your name, you pathetic little man. … Dude, we get you’re world-famous, but everybody knows you’re a f—ing piece of s— loser and now we know how f—ing pathetic and small and low you are. By the way, it’s embarrassing. You look like the smallest man who ever lived.”
Portnoy, who cohosts the “BFFs” podcast with LaPaglia, was making reference to one of the two diss tracks he’s made about Bryan, “Smallest Man.” The media mogul also released a song called “Country Diddy,” which drew a parallel between Bryan and Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently incarcerated after he was indicted on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking in September.
Dave Portnoy's Beef With Zach Bryan Goes Way Beyond Brianna Chickenfry
LaPaglia, 25, was shown on camera looking unbothered shortly after Bryan’s name was mentioned inside the octagon. However, when the arena started blasting Bryan’s song “Something in the Orange” during the event, LaPaglia was seen on camera giving the track a thumbs down.
Bryan and LaPaglia broke up last month, with the “Pink Skies” singer sharing the news in an October 22 Instagram Story.
LaPaglia was “blindsided” by the split and has since accused Bryan of emotional abuse and asking her to sign a $12 million NDA to not speak about the alleged abuse.
Us Weekly has reached out to Bryan for comment.
