Dorit Kemsley is giving an update on her and estranged husband Paul “PK” Kemsley’s son, Jagger, after the 10-year-old underwent surgery.
“I’m very, very happy to say that he’s doing so much better,” Dorit, 48, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her and Dorinda Medley’s new campaign for Words With Friends. “He had two hip surgeries in under a week. Emergency surgery. This little guy has been through a lot, but he’s incredible.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star noted that Jagger has a “little limp” but is no longer using a walker. “It was scary and difficult and challenging, but he was so strong and brave,” she said. “My children had not even had blood drawn at this point. Next thing you know, we’re in the ER.”
Dorit claimed that there was “a little bit of misdiagnosing,” so once they had arrived at the ER, “it already had progressed.” She added, “I had about 10 minutes from when they told me he was going into emergency surgery to when they wheeled him away.”
Dorit Kemsley Shares Son Health Update, Reunites With PK on Halloween
Dorit called the experience “very traumatic” and “very frightening,” but added, “Thank God he was OK.” She explained that Jagger underwent a second surgery five days later, and there were a “few other setbacks.”
“Seeing him not walking for a month and being in the hospital for two weeks and then coming out in a wheelchair to a walker, to limping, to walking and soon to be running — kids, they’re very resilient. They bounce back,” she said. “Thank God, he’s doing really, really well. So I’m so happy.”
While reflecting on their family bonding after the health scare, Dorit said she had a “really nice” time spending Halloween with PK, 57, Jagger and their daughter Phoenix, 8. (Dorit and PK, who tied the knot in 2015, announced their separation in May.)
“It was great,” she said, adding that it has been their tradition to have a family costume. “We love it and look forward to it. When Jagger was in the hospital and we didn’t know what was going on, really, I didn’t know if there was going to be a Halloween. And so, for us to have been able to do it and get dressed and me be able to take them trick or treating, it was everything. So I’m so happy.”

In between juggling her responsibilities as a mom, Dorit is teaming up with Medley, 59, for her Words With Friends campaign. Dorit noted that the game is “therapeutic” and “doesn’t take a lot of energy.”
“You don’t have to have communication, texting calls, but yet you feel like you’re connected,” she said. “It feels like there’s something very relaxing, very exciting. It’s effortless.”
