Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confirmed rumors about his behavior on the set of his new movie, Red One — including one shocking bit of information about his urination habits.
In April, The Wrap published an article titled “How Dwayne Johnson’s Tardiness Led to a $250 Million Runaway Production,” which alleged the actor, 52, was frequently late to set and, as a result, would sometimes pee in bottles to avoid further delays.
“Yeah,” Johnson admitted in a Monday, November 11, profile in GQ. “That happens.”
As for the tardiness, Johnson mostly copped to that, as well.

“Yeah, that happens too.But not that amount, by the way,” he said about the outlet’s report he would often be late to set by 7 or 8 hours. “That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”
Despite the candidness, Johnson ultimately called the controversy surrounding his behavior “bulls—.”
Johnson stars alongside Chris Evans in the new holiday comedy, which hits theaters Friday, November, 15. Red One director Jake Kasdan defended his movie’s star to GQ, saying Johnson “never missed a day of work ever.”
“He has a lot going on,” Kasdan continued. “He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood — that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”
Kasdan and Johnson also worked together on 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its 2019 sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level. The director is in talks to helm the third Jumanji installment, which will star Johnson and hit theaters in December 2026.
Johnson also earned the support of his costar Evans, 43, who said the former pro wrestling superstar was a much better collaborator than other people he’s worked with in the past.

“In terms of the guy that I saw, compared to some of the things I’ve seen on other movies with other actors who are not only not conscious of other people’s time and efforts, but they’re unpredictable?” Evans told GQ. “I found Dwayne to be — we all know exactly what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it.”
Evans acknowledged Johnson wasn’t always on set bright and early, but said nothing about it was out of the blue.
“It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late,” the actor added. “He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”
Red One arrives in theaters on Friday, November 15.
