French mass rape trial shocks the nation

A 71-year-old man went on trial on Sept. 2, 2024, in France over allegations that he drugged his wife and invited dozens of strangers to rape her in their home. The case of Dominique and Gisele Pelicot has shocked the country. Fifty other men, accused of raping Gisele Pelicot after she was knocked unconscious by drugs, were also on trial.
