Keke Palmer’s Beauty Routine Has Changed Since Becoming a ‘Tired’ Mom

How Keke Palmer Takes Care of Her Postpartum Skin and Natural Curls

Keke Palmer got real about making time for her beauty regimen since giving birth to her son Leo in February 2023.

As Palmer, 31, got glammed up in an episode of Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” YouTube series, she explained how her routine has changed since welcoming Leo, 9 months, whom she shares with ex-husband Darius Jackson.

“Sometimes I have to really pull myself to do the routine,” Palmer admitted as she touched up her makeup. “I’m tired,” she continued.

While Palmer has an even busier schedule now, she still makes self-care a priority, using some of her favorite products including the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation, NARS’ Radiant Creamy Concealer, Charlotte Tilbury’s Bronzing Powder, Patrick Ta’s Creme & Powder Blush Duo, Huda Beauty’s Liquid Matte Lipstick and more.

Elsewhere in the YouTube video, Palmer shared how she gets her natural curls as luscious as she does.

“When I started doing my natural hair, I wasn’t sure how to do it. A lot of people do wash-and-gos, a lot of people do twist outs, and I wanted to figure out what was the style for,” she said. After searching for the perfect method, Palmer realized that flexi rods work best for her. She unraveled a blue rod from her head, proving how sleek and defined the technique made her strands.

“I am a girl that likes to do protective styles,” Palmer said, noting she loves to play around with wigs, but has come around to loving her natural hair and its “uniqueness.”

To fluff up her curls, Palmer applied the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Shine Mist to her hair and gently pulled apart the coils with her fingers. She then used a wide-tooth comb to separate her strands even more.

After welcoming Leo, Palmer exclusively told Us Weekly in March that her skin reverted back to its “old ways” with adult acne.

“[When] I was pregnant with my son, my skin was never better,” she said. “Now, [my skin] is back to its old ways.”

Palmer also joked to Us that she would “get pregnant” again just to avoid more acne. The things we do for beauty!
